Shawn was married about a month ago, and I was honored to be her Matron of Honor. During our (many) conversations about wedding planning, she told me she wanted to hire me to take photos in her wedding dress with her horse, Sandy. I jumped at the chance to photograph my friend with her beloved horse. I had never met Sandy before, but I knew how much Shawn loved her and it was easy to see why. Sweet and docile, Sandy wasn’t (that day anyway). Feisty, spirited, independent- she was. I loved and respected her immediately.
We spent some time doing fairly normal things- letting her eat grass and chasing her around the field to get her energy out. You may think it’s quite unique that a girl in a beautiful wedding gown is running through fields with her horse- but if you would have been there, you would have thought it was the most normal thing in the world.
Thanks, Shawn, for introducing me to your stubborn, feisty, wonderful Sandy.
